Kotaku is reporting that an image of a Meijer retail catalog has revealed an upcoming price cut for the Xbox 360 Elite model video game system. The console, which currently retails at $399, will reportedly drop by 25% ($100), to a svelte $299 price tag on or around August 30.
Additionally, Kotaku is saying that this price drop corroborates with info provided earlier in the summer from Ars Technica that claims that Microsoft will also discontinue the Pro model Xbox 360, and that Sony will also drop the PlayStation 3's price this fall.
