MODERN WARFARE Wii REVEALED: Activision announces that a Nintendo Wii version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will release on November 10.
Kotaku reports Activision has announced that a Nintendo Wii version of their critically acclaimed shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is coming soon. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which drops the number 4 from its title, will be released on the Wii November 10, 2009, the same day Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases on PS3, Xbox 360, PC.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for the Wii is being developed by Treyarch, the team who worked on Call of Duty: World at War and the secret Call of Duty 7 game that was previously rumored to be a Call of Duty game set during the Vietnam War.
There's still no word whether the omission of the number 4 has anything to do with the game itself, but GamePro will keep you updated if Modern Warfare for the Wii contains any bonus content not included in the original game.
The Wii version of Call of Duty: World at War remains to be one of the best selling games for the console, surpassing over a million copies sold, which could explain why a CoD4 port is coming so late after its initial release.
